GPEC – Green Port Energy Centre

Polygeneration containerised clusterable system for maritime and sea uses.

GPEC – Green Port Energy Centre is a demonstration of an OGSP (Off-Grid Shore Power) system to supply electrical and thermal energy to a ship at port developed by the Inova´s Energy Transition area.

It employs as fuel liquefied natural gas (LNC), less polluting than other hydrocarbons because it contains less sulphur and more hydrogen. Relative to diesel, it brings a CO2 emissions reduction of 20%.

GPEC includes three interconnected subsystems: containerised polygeneration subsystem, ship connection subsystem, and control and monitorisation subsystem.
